It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Morton H. Meyerson, a titan of technology, a pillar of the community, and a cherished mentor, investor, and friend to our founders. Mort’s legacy is etched into the very fabric of modern business. As the operational genius behind EDS and Perot Systems, he architected the IT services industry. As a civic leader, his decade of tireless dedication gave the world the magnificent Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. And as a visionary mentor, he possessed a rare gift for identifying and nurturing the entrepreneurs who would go on to define their eras, from personal computing to the internet. His wisdom was a guiding light, and his belief in our mission was both a profound honor and a solemn responsibility.
We were privileged to have had Mort as an initial investor, but his most valuable contribution was his friendship and his counsel. He saw in our quest to build a new, more elegant system for vehicle access the same spirit of disruptive innovation he had championed his entire life. He challenged us, he inspired us, and he instilled in us the same commitment to excellence and integrity that was his hallmark. The entire Nxcar team extends our deepest condolences to the Meyerson family. We will honor his memory the best way we know how: by building a company worthy of his extraordinary legacy.
